Cheers as Ron Paul wins CPAC Straw Poll
The conservative media tried its best to discount the victory of Ron Paul in CPAC’s annual ’straw poll’ over the weekend by throwing out every excuse in the book. I can’t say I’m surprised, but what I will say is this: Instead of trying to sweep it under the rug, they should promote the fact that the organizations started by Ron’s supporters have become very well organized and have succeeded at something that only Barrack Obama was able to do in the last election cycle. Young people were overwhelmingly a major contribution to the the straw poll vote and it seems that youth have fully endorsed the ideas that Ron talks about.
A Politico headline this morning reads, “Boos as Ron Paul wins CPAC straw poll”. I’d like to offer evidence that while there were boos from the crowd, there were many Ron Paul supporters outside of the main ballroom who were unable to enter – who cheered the victory from in front of the many TV monitors setup throughout overflow rooms and public areas.
